Roger Lindeman, MD, brought his passion for Virginia Mason to life in a variety of meaningful ways, including a strong commitment to philanthropy. He worked tirelessly as a Foundation board member and adviser for 18 years, participating actively in numerous events and gatherings, and consistently serving as a champion and advocate.
Dr. Lindeman came to Virginia Mason in 1968 and became head of Otolaryngology in 1973. He went on to become chief of Surgery in 1976, and from 1980 to 2000, served the medical center as chairman and CEO. In the CEO role, Dr. Lindeman helped lead the medical center into the future. He said that for Virginia Mason to grow and thrive it must continue to provide the best primary and specialty care; contribute to the field of medicine through education and research; and it must nurture its local and regional relationships.
Dr. Lindeman passed away on Oct. 30, 2018, and is greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.More Stories
